13 Giant Sculptures Made Entirely Of Beach Waste To Make You Reconsider Plastic Use

A whooping eight million tons of trash yearly winds up in our oceans. Artists from Washed Ashore organization turn it into giant sculptures made entirely of beach waste. To make you reconsider plastic use.

All of them were created using plastic materials found in the sea or on shore, discarded plastics which we call beach waste. These unique art pieces are part of a traveling exhibition that includes educational signage and programs encouraging reducing, refusing, reusing, repurposing, and recycling. Volunteers of all ages can get involved. You’re never too young to be an artist.

Washed Ashore is a traveling exhibit that features larger-than-life hand-crafted sculptures of marine mammals and other sea life made exclusively from marine debris. Environmental artist Angela Haseltine Pozzi founded the Washed Ashore “Art to Save the Sea” Project to educate and create awareness of ocean debris and plastic pollution and its effect on marine life species.

This astonishing exhibit is hands-on, interactive, eye-opening, and unforgettable.
