Korean Artist Beautifully Illustrates What Real Love Looks Like

Whenever most of us think of love, Hollywood depictions may come to mind: a passionate embrace in the midst of rainfall or a desperate race against time to reach the one who might get away so that a moving speech can be made that inevitably will make us reach for a tissue. But love in its truest form is much less cinematic and far more sublime.

Korean artist “Puuung” has set out to change our perceptions of love in a series of illustrations that capture small gestures like a peck on the cheek, a quiet moment together, or even being silly that have the biggest impact. Each illustration is something we can all relate to and something that appears far more accessible than what we see on the big screen.

Although the pictures are understated, they are more impactful and poignant and I admittedly did reach for a tissue while viewing.

These small gestures, light brush strokes on a much larger canvas, will last far longer than those giant flower bouquets. You won’t remember exactly what happened, or where you were when it happened, but you will both share the lasting feeling that that small, fleeting moment gave you.
