Aviv House is a modern private home in Tulum, Mexico, designed by the CO-LAB Design Office. A short distance from the beach and the crystalline cenotes, the house sits discretely in the jungle, merging indoors and outdoors into one generous, peaceful space.
Casa Aviv is Composed of two parallel volumes. It accommodates four en-suite bedrooms, high ceilings, open kitchens, dining and living areas, a private pool, and a 360º roof terrace.
The house’s east-west design takes advantage of the prevailing winds and cross ventilation. North-oriented skylights fill the different spaces with indirect natural light, creating soft contrasts of light and shadow reflected through the house.
Aviv House is designed and built by the CO-LAB Design Office and features handmade finishes. Warm grey polished cement walls contrast with black terrazzo floors, and charred cedar wood carpentry complements the neutral palette.
CO-LAB’s workshop custom-designed and fabricated the furnishings and light features for the house, utilizing local artisans.
On the ground floor, the living/dining room, kitchen, and two bedrooms open to the garden. The primary bedroom features a private patio with direct access to the pool. The double-height living space extends into the pool and garden through floor-to-ceiling pivoting glass doors, blending interior and exterior in one integrated space filled with natural light and garden views.
On the first floor, two bedrooms frame the lush jungle, connected by a bridge under a skylight. The house’s sturdy appearance reflects the need for a durable rental property that requires low maintenance.
