I’m Lim Heng Swee, a self-taught Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia illustrator. Cats have always fascinated me with their mysterious personalities. Their calm, curious, and relaxed nature soothes me, and I love how their curves blend into natural landscape scenes. As I create these minimal cat illustrations, I feel a sense of peace and hope you’ll discover life’s secret knowledge through them.

After graduating in Mechanical Engineering, I discovered my true passion for drawing and decided to pursue a career as an artist. I believe retirement should not be reserved only for the end of a grueling work life but should go hand in hand with work. This realization led me to create art that has been enjoyable throughout my life.

I love to mix things up and create something unique. For example, I linked a cat’s posture to a mountain landscape’s curvy shapes, and that’s how I created the Cat Landscape series artwork. I always try to inject humor into my work.

Brainstorming ideas is the hardest part of the creative process, but it is also my favorite part.
