Wallace Ridge, completed by Whipple Russell Architects, is located in Trousdale Estates, an area in Beverly Hills, California. The interior is warm and comfortable, with decorative accessories that add personality and character.
Wallace Ridge By Whipple Russell Architects:
“The original home was in poor condition when it was first built. Its rough floor plan and gabled roofs didn’t fit the client’s vision of a modern home. We wanted to create a space that would reflect the light and the views from the surrounding area.
Marc wanted to maintain the same level of privacy and luxury in the exclusive Trousdale Estates while providing a spectacular view. He designed a roof terrace that overlooks the main suite, allowing him to enjoy the view from the pool area.
The main house was redesigned to feature a sleek flat roof, high ceilings, and an open plan concept. The front door, which opens to a wide entry, provides an unobstructed sight line into the living area. Large glass panels surround the entrance, and 12ft glass walls and pocket doors run along the patio and pool.
The rooms are minimally defined using tall panels and a rich coffee bean brown color. The clients wanted a warm and entertaining home, achieved through materials that allowed the various spaces to flow seamlessly into one another.
As there is a musician in the family, the clients wanted to find space for a complete music studio; Marc found it by digging down and locating the studio beneath the motor court. It includes a separate control room, sound booth for vocal recording, and tracking room, a soundproofed oasis for creation.”
